A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Paul Jones, 94, of Enid will be Tuesday, June 9, 2015, 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7pm Monday at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Paul was born July 10, 1920 in Tulsa, OK the son of Benjamin and Gertrude VanScyoc Jones and passed away June 5, 2015. He was a graduate of Enid High School in 1940 and then attended many trade schools. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He served in Italy, France, and Africa. He was united in marriage to Mary McCullough August 10, 1956 in Enid, OK. Paul was employed by Longbell Lumber Company and then he owned and operated Pauls’ Glass and Floors for over twenty years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, a member of the American Legion for over 65 years, Kiwanis Club and The Camera Club winning several first place ribbons for his photography. He was chairman of the committee for Nurse’s training, Boys and Girls State. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, a daughter, Karen Smith and her husband Scott of Enid, a son, Stephen Jones of Washington D.C, four grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Catherine and Christina, two great-grandchildren, Alex and Sky, a step-grandchild, Jordan, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister, Pauline and a brother Ben and a step-great-grandson, Braden.
