Wanda was born on April 7, 1933, to parents Lula Faye Smalley and Clarence Homer Crenshaw in Payne County, Oklahoma. At the age of 10, Wanda accepted her Lord Jesus Christ and loved and served Him faithfully on this earth until her death Monday, May 16, 2016 at Bass Pavilion at the age of 83 years. Now her faith has become sight, worshipping her Lord Jesus Christ forever in Heaven and looking after those she left behind here on earth. Wanda loved meeting new people, and she never met a stranger. Upon meeting someone new, Wanda was always concerned for their soul and where they would spend eternity; she never hesitated to ask, “Do you know Jesus?”
On July 27, 1950, Wanda married James Powell Johnston in Garnett, Kansas, and for 64 years they were the loves of each other’s lives. Wanda’s life was her husband Jimmy, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren; and she loved each of them dearly. Wanda worked as a customer service representative for many years at the Parisians Department Store in Florence, Alabama, to Enid, Oklahoma, where Wanda worked in INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center’s dining services department, until retiring in the late 1990’s. Wanda was also an active member of Enid’s Emmanuel Baptist Church for more than 25 years.
