The funeral service for Genevieve Z Johnson, age 88 will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. Rev Garvie Schmidt and Shorty Unruh will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 5-7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Genevieve was born December 27, 1921 in Hunter, OK to Jonathan and Zelda (Hughes) Sears and died February 21, 2010 in Enid. She graduated from high school and attended two years of Alva State College, Alva, OK.
She married Alvin Wayne Johnson on October 29, 1943 in Hunter, OK.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin, her children Lawanna Genneane Rowley and husband, Richard of Haskell, OK and Earlene Kay Poindexter and husband Allen of Port Richey, FL; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters: Euna Mae Sears, Neva Easterly and Veda Fae Moore.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Thelma LeGrand.
