A celebration of life and remembrance for Vivian Jantz, age 92, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Monday, February 2, 2015 at New Hopedale Mennonite Church in Meno. Pastor James Suderman will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Vivian passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Enid.
Vivian was born March 7, 1922 in Ringwood, Ok to Sam Smith and Lena (Johnson) Smith, one of seven girls! She graduated from Ringwood High School. She married Claude Jantz in 1943 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage prior to Claude passing away in 2009. She enjoyed baking and making pies for her family, especially during the holidays. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Vivian was a long time member of New Hopedale Mennonite Church where she helped make food for the annual Mennonite relief sale.
She is survived by three children, Claudia Crabtree and husband David, of Enid; son Tom Jantz and wife Janie, of Edmond; son Chris Jantz and wife Mary, of Enid; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; three sisters, Charlene Berg and husband Dean, of Helena, OK; Beverly Strange and F.A., of Choctaw, OK; and Naomi Turk, of Bay City, Michigan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Vivian is preceded in death by her husband Claude Jantz, an infant daughter, and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to the New Hopedale Mennonite Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
