It is with great sadness that the family of Darrell Leslie Jantz announces his sudden passing on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the age of 57 years. Darrell will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Kimberly and his children, Jeffrey (Megan) Jantz, Michelle (Michael) Rundle, Lauren (Tyler) Norcom, Caitlin Jantz, Morgan (Chris) Kuykendall and Logan Jantz. Darrell will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Mason, Camberly, Keaton, Ella, Case and Everett, by his mother Clara, by his siblings Sharon, Paula, Michael and Alan, and by his brother-in-law Scot (Lynn) Gregory. Darrell was predeceased by his children Gregory and Lesli and father Paul.
Darrell started a mechanics shop in 1985 and farmed thereafter. He worked incredibly long days and weekends to provide for his family. He also loved working alongside his children Jeff, Michelle, and Logan. He served multiple terms on the CO-OP board and was extensively involved with the Oklahoma Hemophilia Foundation. He attended the Ames Christian Church.
Darrell was the foundation and strength of his family, always smiling through milestones, the weddings, the births of his children, and the births of his grandkids. But more importantly he provided the perseverance for his family to survive the tragedy of the losses. He was always a man with a smile and was loved by so many, not just his own children but his children’s friends and his neighbors and the list goes on. He loved to talk, to joke, and he absolutely loved to dote on his children. Anyone could speak with Darrell and recognize how deeply involved he was with his family. He could tell you the smallest of details, even how high of a fever his grandkid had the night before. His family grieves the loss of his smile and the loss of his strength, but also has the hope that his attributes will continue on through his children and carry the family through this loss.
Family visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Ladusau-Evans in Enid. A funeral service in memory of Darrell will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ames Christian Church with Rev. Sherry Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Ames Cemetery. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Darrell to the Oklahoma Hemophilia Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
