A Celebration of Life service for Jesse L. James age 68 of Covington will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 in the Covington Gym with Pastor Victor Bartlow and Pastor Lyle Buller officiating. Burial will follow in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Jesse was born February 3, 1949 in Alva to John and Myrtle Parker James and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 12, 2017. He graduated from Waynoka High School in 1967 and went on to receive his Bachelors from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Masters in Education and Administration from Central State University. Jesse met Pamela Sargent and they were married on May 31, 1969 in Perryton, TX. Jesse and Pam have two beautiful daughters. Jesse taught and coached in Cherokee and Covington retiring in 2000 after 33 years.
Jesse is survived by his wife Pam of the home, daughters; Machelle Smith and husband Kevin of Lake Mills, Wisconsin and Kamelle James (Steve Rosales) of Covington, four wonderful grandchildren; Gabe, Gracyn, and Gibson Smith, Dalton James, and Sister Janie Bartlow and husband Victor of Ft. Worth, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 5 brothers.
Memorials may be made to OMRF- Cancer division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
