Samuel Jahnke

June 22, 1930 — October 4, 2013

Funeral services for Samuel Eugene Jahnke, 83, of Enid, will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013, 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Williams, Mr. Everett Ohls and Mr. David Seltenreich officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Samuel was born June 22, 1930 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Samuel and Gertrude Weatherholt Jahnke and died October 4, 2013. Samuel was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Billie Sue Stewart April 4, 1953 in Enid, OK. Samuel was employed as a machinist for over eighteen years for Central Machine and Tool.

Samuel was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed woodworking and painting and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Billie , two sons, Gary and his wife Laurie of Round Rock, TX, Steve and his wife Jan of Houston, TX, two daughters, Judy Seltenreich and her husband Greg of Broken Arrow, OK and Alicia Hibbets of Oklahoma City, OK, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jerome of Hartwell, GA and Charles of Huntsville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
