Dee Dee was born October 13, 1952, in Kingsport, Tennessee, seventh of eight children born to Sherman and Carrie (Tate) Nelson, and passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Enid, Ok.
Dee Dee served her country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War, she met her husband, Michael Jackson in Albuquerque, New Mexico where they were both serving in the U. Becoming a grandmother was the joy of her life, welcoming her first granddaughter, Harlee, in 2010, and then followed by Aliyah Draper and most recently, River Rose.
Following her retirement, Dee Dee volunteered at the YMCA for over 20 years, and for several of the animal welfare and rescues in the Enid area. She enjoyed watching Harlee play basketball, going fishing with Tony and going to an array of entertainment events with JJ. She was loving and generous, and will be missed by all who knew her.
