Billy Ishmael of Enid, Oklahoma passed away July 27, 2012. Billy was always happy, full of life and at times slightly ornery. It seemed he knew everyone and he would stop to talk at every chance. He was interested in everything and everyone. His light heartedness will be remembered by his family and friends. Billy was born October 15, 1926 in Enid to Elmer and Nellie Blauvelt Ishmael. He attended school in Enid and then enlisted with the Merchant Marines. When he returned home he married Alma Peterman in Enid on January 12, 1947. He was employed with Southwestern Bell for 32 years retiring in 1982. He started farming in the Drummond community in 1954 and retired from that in 1988. He traveled with his wife and spent some winters in south Texas and summers in Colorado. He was a member of the Puritan Congregational United Church of Christ in Drummond. He was preceded in death by his wife Alma in February 2001. He is survived by his children: Rex Ishmael and wife Sherrie (Stillwater), David Ishmael and wife Jamie (Dallas); Tammy Hodge and husband Keith (Florence, CO); his nine grandchildren: Amy Goodpasture, Ryan Ishmael, Crystal Welch, Jessica Lyons, Kris Hodge, Will Ishmael, Rebecca Ishmael, Megan Hodge, Emily Hodge; and 2 great grandsons.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on August 25th at 10AM.
Memorials may be made to the Puritan Congregational United Church of Christ in Drummond or Hospice Circle of Love.
