Mary Humphrey

Beth Humphrey, age 88, Tulsa formerly of Enid, was born on October 23, 1929 in St. Joseph, MO. to William Grady and Eleanor R. Hurt Ferguson and passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Montereau Memory Unit in Tulsa, OK. She grew up in Missouri, Indiana, Georgia, Texas and Virginia, then graduated from Blacksburg VA High School in 1946. Beth completed her nurses training at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta in 1950 and graduated from Phillips University in 1954. She served as the school nurse at Phillips University for 27 years, retiring in 1993. Beth and James Humphrey were married on August 1, 1954 and resided in Enid until their move to Tulsa. She was a member of University Place Christian Church and was active with University Women at Phillips University.

Beth is survived by her husband, Jim of Tulsa; daughters: Lisa Mesmer and husband Paul of Tulsa, Laura Humphrey and husband Jay of Rochester, NY, and Lanna Schelbar and husband Joe of Tulsa; six grandchildren: James, Michele, Ethan, Cullen, Nick and Natalie; brother Tim Ferguson and wife Norma of Enid and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Ferguson and nephew Bill Ferguson.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Montereau staff of the Abbey and the Chateau. A Private family gathering will be held.

Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
