Funeral Services for Marilyn Humphrey, age 80, will be at 10 am Monday
March 5th, 2012 at Ladusau Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Enid. Rev Gail Edmison will officiate. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marilyn was born September 26, 1931 and passed away peacefully on
February 28th, 2012. She was the only child of Harold (Tubby) Cross and Carolyn (Radtke) Cross of Jet, OK. She graduated from Jet High School in 1949, where she excelled at basketball. After her high school graduation, she moved to Enid where she attended Phillips University and Enid Business College. She met many friends who she continued contact with through her remaining years. During her time in school she decided to go to work for J.C. Humphrey in his Abstract Office. There, she soon crossed paths with Jim and Nita's youngest son, Bill. They were married on November 2, 1956, .and continued the blessing of each other till Dad passed away June 5, l999.
Marilyn is survived by two sons, Todd and his wife Cindy and Monte and his wife Laura, all Of Enid; she is also survived by grandchildren, Madden and Morgan Humphrey and her husband, Brett and the twins, Bill and James Humphrey; also grandchildren Ashley Good and Derek, Grant and Jacob Ogle, and great grandsons Cameron and Roman. Many thank yous go out to her lasting friend in her later years and caregiver, Sheila Maner.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, the light of her life Bill, and various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mom loved her flowers, her garden work, Todd and Monte's involvement in all of their various adventures, to sports and music, and her family first most, especially being our Dad’s best friend. From baseball to car shows to antiquing trips...thank you mother for always being there.
Please make memorials to the Humphrey Heritage Village in care of the funeral home, which she proudly helped Bill found in our 100 year Celebration in 1993.
