Funeral services for Leola Elmeta Hoeltzel, age 90, of Enid will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev.’s Kenneth Wade and Scott Whittenberg officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Leola was born July 7, 1920, on the farm home north of Lahoma to Edward and Lydia Heintz Holz and passed away March 28, 2011, in Tulsa, OK.
She attended Country Starlight School, Lahoma Lutheran Day School, being confirmed in 1933, and graduated from Lahoma High School in 1937.
On December 20, 1947, she married Harold George Hoeltzel, and he passed away on December 19, 1996. They were blessed with 3 daughters and one son. She is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She worked at Beech Air Craft in Wichita during WW II, a telephone company in Tucson, AZ, and at St. Mary’s Hospital as a cook for 15 years, retiring in 1985.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, and three sisters, Luella Coward, Ruby Hoeltzel, and a baby sister Holz, and one granddaughter Laura Hoeltzel.
She is survived by two sisters, Annabelle West and Rosalie Brakhage, three daughters, Janet Hoeltzel, Sheryl Miller and husband Bob, Lorene Unruh and husband Rocky, and a son Bryce Hoeltzel, grandchildren Joshua Unruh and Andrea, Shayna Stewart and Rick, Sarah Williams and Mike, and Zachary Miller, five great grandchildren, Jackson and Caleb Stewart, Elijah Unruh, and Ella and Jasen Williams.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
