Marlene Hixon

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marlene Evon (Kokojan) Hixon, 74, of Enid, is 11:00 am, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Mark E. Mason celebrating Marlene’s life. Burial will follow in Hennessey Catholic Cemetery. There will be a Rosary at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, September 19, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Marlene Evon (Kokojan) Hixon passed from this life on September 14, 2018. She was born to Anton and Adella (Pribyl) Kokojan on January 19, 1944 in Bison, Oklahoma. Marlene attended school in Bison, OK and graduated from Memorial High School in Enid, OK. She attended Enid Business College with focus in Business and Accounting. On August 26, 1961, Marlene married Robert “Bob” Hixon. Marlene worked at George E. Failing Company (GEFCO) for 46 years. Marlene was a member of Desk and Derrick and volunteered at Our Daily Bread for several years. In addition, Marlene and Bob were avid farmers for many years.

Marlene is survived by daughter Lisa Hixon Nault and husband Scott, of Enid; granddaughter Linzy Hixon Cook and husband Adam, of Dallas; twin great-grandsons, Conor and Camden Cook, of Dallas; Robert “Bruce” Rogers, her very best friend; her beloved cat Boomer; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hixon; and her parents, Anton and Adella Kokojan.

Marlene was a devoted Catholic and avid OU fan. She loved to travel and spend time outdoors in her yard. She lived for her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandsons. Marlene had a heart of gold and would do anything for her family and friends. She touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed.

Memorials in Marlene’s name may be made to Our Daily Bread and the Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
