A Celebration of Life for Helen S. Jack, age 101, of Baptist Village in Enid, OK, formerly of Amorita, Ok, will be 11:00 am, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Garland Road Baptist Church. Pastor Billy Benson and Pastor Mark Walters will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Byron-Amorita Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

 Helen was born September 25, 1922, in Maud, Oklahoma to William Thomas (Tom) Sharp, Sr., and Rosie Lena (Richardson) Sharp and passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 in Enid.

 Helen moved with her parents to Morewood, Oklahoma at 1 year old. She attended grade school at Texmo County School and high school at Hammon High School, graduating in 1940. Helen attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University at Stillwater, OK, eventually receiving her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Northwestern Oklahoma State College (now University) in Alva, Oklahoma.

 Helen taught school in Kansas for 29 years and was inducted into the Kansas State Teachers Hall of Fame in 1990. Helen taught Bible classes in church from 1955 until the Lord called her home. She was endorsed by the Southern Baptist North American Mission Board October 7, 1997 to be a chaplain and served 18 years as Voluntary Chaplain at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid, Ok. 

 Helen married Woodrow Jack on August 28, 1947, and enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage before Woodrow preceded her in death on December 23, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Sharp, Sr. and Rosie Lena (Richardson) Sharp; two brothers, William (Bill) Thomas Sharp, Jr., and Lloyd Max Sharp. Helen is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Jack) White and husband Jerry, of Chickasha, OK, and Sydnee Jack, of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Cody J. White and wife Aimee, and Kevin W. White and wife Chelsea, as well as five great-grandchildren, Blake White, Bailey White, Brooke White, Wade White and Eli White.

 Memorial contributions in Helen’s honor may be made to Garland Road Baptist Church, Enid, OK., or to the First Baptist Church, Cherokee, Ok with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

 The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. John Schrader and his nurse Whitney for their wonderful care of Helen.
