A celebration of life and remembrance for Yvonne Havemann, age 89, of Enid, is 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Community Bible Church in Lahoma, with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Yvonne passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Enid.
Yvonne was born September 16, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Russell and Roeverta Webb. She graduated from Garber High and was active in The International Order of The Rainbow for Girls, as well as marching in the band. After high school she attended Enid Business College and worked at Greys. She met Melvin (Tex) Havemann at Vance Air Force Base and they were married Christmas Eve, 1950. They were stationed in Big Springs, TX, where their daughter Susie was born. From there they returned to Enid before being shipped out to Belgium, then on to Germany. Upon returning to the United States they made their home in Louisiana, Hawaii, and Idaho before retiring to Enid. Yvonne worked at Vance Air Force Base in the commissary until her retirement in 1987.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin (Tex) Havemann.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Powell and husband John, of Ames, OK; two grandsons, Maclane Powell of Dodge City, KS; Andrew Powell and wife Christina, of Stillwater, OK; and great-granddaughter, McKenna Powell, of Enid, Ok.
Memorials may be made to Community Bible Church with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
