Michael Hartling

A Celebration of Life Service for Michael J. Hartling age 64 of Enid will be 10 am Thursday at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Jay Risner and Rev. Lynford Becker officiating. Mike’s request was to be cremated. Burial will follow at a later date.

Mike was born November 22, 1948 in Enid to Harold and Marjorie Livingston Hartling and passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 in the St. Mary’s Regional Hospital after a period of ill health. Mike grew up in Enid where he attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1966. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and served 3 months until he was honorably discharged due to his allergic reaction to wool. He started working for George E. Failing in December 1966 and worked as an assemblyman retiring in 2007 after 41 years. On July 3, 1970, he married Norma Buller at the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church.

Mike was an active member of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church where he helped start the AWANA program and worked with the Jr. High Youth Program.

Mike is survived by his wife Norma of the home, son Michael and wife Amy Hartling of Enid, daughter Kim Hartling of Shawnee, grandchildren Evelyn Grace, Madelyn Lillian, Jackson Ryan Hartling, mother Marjorie Hartling, brothers Dick and Anita Hartling, Gary Hartling, and Jack Hartling all of Enid and several other family members.

Memorials may be made to Enid Mennonite Brethren Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
