A Celebration of Life for Jim Hannon, 86, of Enid will be Thursday, January 19, 2017, 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Jim was born February 25, 1930 in Wichita, Kansas the son of William and Myrtle Reeves Hannon and passed away January 15, 2017.
Jim was united in marriage to Glenda Trekell, January 29, 1959 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was employed for many years in the broadcasting business in the Enid area with KCRC radio in the sixties and seventies, then worked in the oil and gas industry and owned and operated Sooner Exploration and Development until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge and the Grand National Quail Club and served as president in 1994. He was also a member of other various hunting and shooting organizations. He was an avid hunter and trap shooter and participated in many organized shooting and hunting events. Jim also served on the Excise Board from 1989 to 2010. Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, a special grandfather and known for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda, a daughter, Jamie Gauld and her husband David of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a son, Jim Hannon of Rowlett, Texas, three grandchildren, John and Sarah Hannon and Justin Gauld and a sister, Mary Messinger of El Dorado, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and a sister, Delores Moss.
