The funeral service for Robert B “Bob” Guthrie, Sr, age 82 will be held Thursday,
January 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev
Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Bob was born August 15, 1928 to Steve and Helen Guthrie in Enid, OK and died
January 22, 2011 at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid, OK.
He married Syble L Kennington of Enid on September 8, 1950. He went to work at
Champlin Refinery in 1950 and retired from Champlin in January of 1984. After
retirement, he started Guthrie’s Satellite Service and ran it until 1991 and then
started Guthrie’s Auto Salvage. It was run by him and his grandson, Trey.
He is survived by his wife, Syble of the home, two sisters, Ruby and husband Larry
Peck, Ames, OK, Jewel Kimmell of Enid, OK; one son, Robert B “JR” Guthrie, Jr and
wife Shirley of Fairmont, OK; four grandchildren: Jaime Jantz and Isaac of Enid, OK,
Robin Smith and husband, Travis of Edmond, OK, Shannon Shields and husband
Eli of Wichita, KS, Robert B “Trey” Guthrie, III of Fairmont, OK; 10 great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Steve, Howard, Raymond
and Paul; one sister, Pearl Stark, and son, Thomas James “Tommy” Guthrie.
