Kelly D. Groves MS, CM III, LPC, NCC, PhD. Candidate, (he would tell you “don’t worry about what all of that means, it means I’m important”) spent 28 short years here, but was just too awesome for Earth. He taught us many lessons about life. The first of which was to find the humor in every situation, no matter how stressful or difficult something there is always a reason to laugh. Be generous, give freely to anyone who needs something but also never let them forget that they “owe you one”. Education is important; never stop learning or improving yourself or else “you’ll be poor and stupid”. Always buy whatever kids are selling; he once bought 47 boxes of cookies because a girl scout was sad that she hadn’t sold her goal yet.
Kelly was bigger than life; he loved his family, ‘Merica, the Jets, K-State and the OKC Thunder. He entered eternal life on Sunday March 23, 2014. He is survived by his wife Betsy, daughters Jasey and Charly, dog Luggage, mother Carol, siblings Courtney, Adam, Carrie, Kevan, Cody, Kyle, Kelsy and Cady, BFF4E and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. He was reunited in death with his father Larry and Brother Casey.
Memorial services for Kelly will be 1:30 pm Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Oakwood Christian Church with Rev. Alan Seibel officiating. Burial will be in the Valley Center Memorial Cemetery in Valley Center, Kansas. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
