A Celebration of Life for Sue Goodpasture, age 91, of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Abundant Life Church with Pastor Jack Wellman and Pastor Dusty Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Sue was born April 4, 1932 in Midway, Arkansas to Charles and Lillian (Wright) Main, and passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Sue attended Springdale High School in Springdale, Arkansas in 1950. After graduation, she worked at the high school in the principal’s office until 1952. In August of 1952, she married Mark Long in Springdale, and then relocated to Hot Springs where she worked for the Assemblies of God College and the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney until 1953. In 1954, they relocated to Enid, where she was employed by Marcellus Priebe, Attorney, until 1956, then she began working for Jack D. Hodgen until her retirement in 1997. She joined Enid Desk and Derrick in 1969, and continued to be involved even after retirement. She welcomed their son Steve in February of 1956, then Patrick followed in August of 1961. On January 5, 1980, she was united in marriage to Marvin L. Goodpasture. After Marvin’s death in 2017, she enjoyed fellowship with a widow’s group through her church. Recently, she was named an Elder with Abundant Life Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Goodpasture; two sons, Steve Long and Patrick Long; two step-sons, Terry Goodpasture and Gary Goodpasture; two brothers, Kenneth Main and Patrick Main; and grandson, Josh Goodpasture. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Miller and husband Gary, and their son Zane, of Stillwater; JD Long, of Oklahoma City; Shelley McCaleb and husband Scotty, and their children, of Medford, OK; Heather Goodpasture and her son Henry, of Pond Creek; Jon Goodpasture and wife Leah and their children, of Colorado; as well as several great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial contributions in Sue’s name may be made to the Abundant Life Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
