Glenna "Jean" Cokeley

October 3, 1934 — January 17, 2025

A celebration of life for Glenna "Jean" Cokeley, age 90, of Enid, will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Jean was born in Lahoma, Oklahoma, on October 3, 1934, to Clarence and Sylvia (Vance) Walton, and passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Baptist Village in Enid after a lengthy illness.

Jean grew up on a farm in Ames, Oklahoma, where she attended the country school, Union Star, and then transferred to Ames High School where she played basketball, was a cheerleader, and FFA Queen. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Jim Cokeley, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, on November 29, 1952.

Jean and Jim made their home and raised their family in Enid. During the early days, they custom-cut wheat in the summers which took the entire family on very interesting adventures from Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota, giving them all many stories to share!

Later on, Jean was a photographer at Marquis Studio taking senior pictures and school day photos in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas. She also took wedding photos in her spare time. Jean was very social and started her group of the Sassy Diva Red Hatters club, which she enjoyed with her friends. Jean loved to cook for all the family dinners, especially during the holidays. Everyone loved her pies and desserts and she loved sharing them with family and friends.

Jean will be missed dearly by everyone that knows her. Both Jean and Jim believed spending time with and supporting family as the most important thing in their lives. That tradition continues with their children and grandchildren.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Sylvia Walton; husband James "Jim" Cokeley, brother Jack Walton, and sister Jody Crawford. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Bese and her husband Terry of Plano, Texas, Tammy Anderson and her husband Jay of Enid, two sons, Tony Cokeley and his wife Rhonda of Enid and Terrell Cokeley of Enid. Jean was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren Jackie Bese, Julie Giacobbe, James Cokeley, Jordan Dillon, Jimmy Mull, Jake Cokeley, and Jared Cokeley, and two great grandchildren Keelan Harris and Jay Dillon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in Jean's name may be made to the Enid SPCA or the Old Paws Rescue Ranch with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
