Funeral services for Carole A Gilmore, age 66, of Enid, OK and formerly of Duncan, OK will be 10:00 am Monday, September 12, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1115 W Elm Ave, 73533 in Duncan, OK. Carole will be laid to rest at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, OK immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Carole was born October 12, 1944 in Duncan to parents, Homer and Shirley Bell. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 6, 2011.
In 1962 she married Jerry Lynn Jones and of that marriage had a daughter, Terri and son, Eric. On June 20, 1968 she married LaDon Gilmore. She worked for many years in healthcare in Fairview, OK and retired as a bookkeeper for Western Property Management in Duncan. Carole moved to Enid, OK in 2009 to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She volunteered at St Mary’s Hospital in Enid until the time of her death. Carole was an avid animal lover and had many cats and dogs during her life. Her latest loves, were her dog, Chloe and her cat, Tuffy and she would talk about them to anyone who would listen.
Carole will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Bennett and husband Mike of Enid; her son, Eric Jones of Euless, TX; her step-daughter Jana Gwosdz (Gilmore) and husband Bruce of Victoria, TX; her brother, Gary Bell and wife Cheryl of Weatherford, OK; her grandchildren, nephews and great-grandchildren; LaDon’s siblings, Johnny and Rachel Gilmore, Karen and Glen Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LaDon Gilmore and her parents, Homer and Shirley Bell.
