Gene Mansker

Funeral services for Gene W. Mansker, 91, of Enid, will be 1:00 pm, Monday, February 24, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, Enid, with Reverend Jonathan Gilliland officiating. The United States Navy Honor Guard will provide military honors. Gene will be laid to rest privately in Pleasant View Cemetery, Jet, Oklahoma, prior to the church service. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 23rd from 3:00 to 4:30 pm at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Gene was born September 18, 1933, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to William and Hetty Rose (Gilbert) Mansker, and passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Baptist Village in Enid.

Gene and his mother moved to Omaha, Texas, when he was a baby. He graduated from Paul Pewitt High School in 1952. He had gone to California to visit an aunt, and wound up joining the Navy. After he was discharged, he returned to east Texas where he began working for various financial institutions in the area which led to his career as a banker in the Dallas area. He married Donna Cone on March 8, 1997, in Daingerfield, Texas, where they made their home until returning to the Enid area in 2008. He and Donna joined the First Baptist Church in Enid, where Gene served as a greeter and was a member of the men's Sunday school class. He had many friends whom he enjoyed having coffee with each morning.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, William and Hetty Mansker.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Donna Mansker, of the home in Enid, son, Jason Mansker and wife Stephanie, of New Lenox, IL; daughter, Gena Lack, of Granbury, TX; step-son Steven Cone of Bonham, TX; step-daughter, Kimberley Soukup and special friend, Billy Dosser, of Enid. Six grandchildren also survive Gene; Rian, Erin, Tyler, Jackson, Camden, and Hadley, as well as three great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Memorial contributions in Gene's name may be made to the First Baptist Church Legacy Campaign with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
