Retired MSgt Roy Lee Gamble, 63, passed away February 21, 2013 at his home in Lahoma, Oklahoma.
Roy was born in Ashland, Kentucky on May 26, 1949, to Raleigh and Louise Gamble. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. Roy enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969. He honorably served 20 years and retired in 1989 from Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas. He worked at CSC in aircraft maintenance at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Oklahoma for 22 years. He is known for his hard work ethic and love of family. His hobbies were fishing, taking vacations, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara since 1986, his 6 children, Stephen Gamble of North Carolina, Dale Gamble of England, Andrew Dean of England, Claire McPhee of Scotland, Mariette and husband, Chris Warnock, of Scotland, and Elizabeth and husband, Greg Hurlbutt of Enid, Ok, his 18 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, his siblings, Ron and Joyce Owens, of Indiana, Pam Gamble of Ashland, Ky, Larry and Kandy Gamble of Ohio, aunt and uncle Bud and Ermalee Salyer of Tudor Key, KY and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and step-father Joe Milligan of Indianapolis, and his brothers, David Gamble and Marty Wright.
A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10am at Oakwood Christian Church. Pastor Jason Stephan will officiate. His burial service will be in Tutor Key, Kentucky on March 3, 2013.
Services are under the direction of Ladusau Evans Funeral Home.
