Dorothy M. Fuller, age 84, passed away peacefully June 12, 2011 in Overland Park, KS at Bickford Assisted Living surrounded by her husband and children. Dorothy was born July 19, 1926 in Haskell, TX to Jennie Mae and Frank Falwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bill Falwell and sister Louise Lehr. Survivors include her devoted husband of 66 years, Wally Fuller, two children, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Carl (Bucky) Hitchcock of Overland Park, KS and son Steve Fuller and daughter-in-law Cathy of Katy, TX, her brothers E.C. Falwell, Frank Falwell and sister Jean Ewing. Dorothy had 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Dorothy and Wally were married Dec. 28, 1944 in Oklahoma City and moved to Enid in 1947 where Wally worked at Cliff's Camera Shop. Dorothy was a homemaker for many years. She worked at Oklahoma Natural Gas as a Customer Service Representative from May 1963 until her retirement in September 1983. Following retirement she worked as a volunteer in the gift shop at Bass Hospital. She and Wally were charter members of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she loved serving and worshiping Christ. She and Wally remained active there until her failing health kept them at home. Dorothy loved her kitties, reading, working puzzles and doing all types of needlework. Many friends and family members were recipients of the beautiful afghans she loved making.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel, 2800 N. Van Buren, Enid, OK 73703 at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2011. Visitation will be from 7:00-8:00 pm at Ladusau-Evans on Wednesday, June 15.
