Tommy Freeman

September 24, 1940 — December 18, 2012

Funeral services for Tommy Glenn Freeman, age 72, will be held Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev Steve Williams will officiate. Burial will be Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10:30 am in the McAlester Cemetery, south of Ardmore. Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 6-8 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Tommy was born September 24, 1940 on the Lazy K Ranch in Marietta, OK to Leo and Virginia Hill Freeman and passed away December 18, 2012 after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis surrounded by his loving family. He was raised on the Lazy K Ranch as a child and attended school in Marietta and graduated from high school in 1959. He attended Central State University and received his BA in History in 1972.

He married Sheliah Taliaferro on May 14, 1959 in Marietta, OK. He began his career in 1959 as a clerk for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and became a Special Agent in 1972. His first assignment was in Milwaukee, WI for 5 years, then Chicago, IL for 7 years and moved to Enid in 1984, retiring in 1994 after 35 years. He started Freeman & Associates, a Private Investigation company working for government agencies. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the North Enid Lion’s Club. He served on the Police Commission for North Enid.

Survivors include, his wife, Sheliah of the home; two daughters, Malinda Sykora and husband Dale of Virginia Beach, VA, Melanie Saunders and husband Ron of Collierville, TN; one son, Mitchell Freeman and wife Jennifer of Enid, OK; 7 grandchildren: Joshua and wife Judy, Samantha, Meg, Anne, John, Michael and Katie and looking forward to his first great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was the best husband, daddy and granddad.
