The graveside service for Teddy “Ted” W Franklin, age 72 will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Hillsdale Cemetery. Rev David Lyons will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Ted was born January 18, 1937 in Bryan, TX to Charles C and Ellen M (Lovell) Franklin and died January 12, 2010 in Enid. He was raised in Houston and Bryan, TX where he graduated.
He entered the U S Army in 1954 and served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1958.
He worked for Harris County Security Company in Houston area retiring in 2000, moving to Enid in 2001. He was a song writer, wrote poetry, loved the Lord and was full of compassion.
Survivors include his sister, Margie Tharp of Gonzales, TX; nieces and nephews: Linda Salley of IN, Robert Raybon, of TX, Michael Linscomb of TX, Sheila Franklin of Enid and Gary Franklin of Kremlin; seven great nieces and nephews and eight great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to the St Jude’s Children’s Hospital with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com.
