Betty Foltz

April 13, 1925 — June 20, 2011

Betty Jane Foltz was born April 13, 1925 in Enid, Oklahoma to Frank and Leora Green. She was 86 when she passed away June 20th in Seguin, TX. Betty graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1942. That same year she married Donald Earl Foltz. After he was drafted, they lived together for nine months at Ft. Carson in Colorado. Once Don was shipped overseas Betty came home to Hillsdale to be with her family. After the war, Don returned to Hillsdale and they began their life together. They opened a grocery store in Hillsdale, which she ran while Don continued to work in Enid. Betty was a long time member of the Hillsdale Bible Church. Betty and Don were both avid supporters of their community. They were two of the founding members of the Hillsdale Booster Club, in which they were active members for decades. Always a team, they were known for their care of the Hillsdale community building that had once been their grocery store. She and Don attended countless ballgames, concerts, plays, and chili suppers even after their children and grandchildren were no longer in school. She lived in Hillsdale the rest of her adult life until she was forced for health reasons to move closer to family in Texas.

Betty was preceded in death by Don, her husband of 59 years, her grandson, Zachary, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Carol and her husband, David, of McQueeney, TX, her son Keith and his wife, LuAnn, of Yukon, her son, Christopher and his wife, of Plano, TX, and her granddaughter, Shari, of Dallas, TX. She also leaves many extended family members and a wealth of friends.

Services will be held at Ladusau Evans Funeral Home 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 24th with Leland Streck officiating. Internment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Hillsdale Christian School with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
