The mass of Christian burial for Richard Eugene Felber, age 78 will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church of Bison, OK. Father Joseph Arledge will officiate. Burial will be in the Bison Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Richard was born July 23, 1932 to Garrett and Nellie (Wehling) Felber in Bison, OK and went to be with his heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
He attended Catholic School in Bison until the eighth grade and then graduated from Waukomis High School.
He entered the Army, November 1952 and was a Corporeal in the 204th Field Artillery Battalion.
On December 31st 1956 he married Letha Higgins in Miami, OK.
He worked road construction, Far Gas, and for the Hennessey Public Schools all while farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Melvin, Hugh and Mitchell and two sisters, Rita Mannion and infant sister, Mary Louise.
He is survived by his wife Letha; son, Eddie Higgins of Reno, NV and daughter, Hazel and son-in-law, James Kitchen of Kingfisher, OK; grandchildren: Rae-Lyn and husband, Mason Andrews of Guthrie, OK, Keelee and husband Scott Bittle of Moore, OK, Keith Richard Higgins of Montana and Jessica and husband John Robles of California; great grandchildren, Hailey and Macie Andrews and Barrett Bittle; three brothers, Kenneth and wife Della of Crowley, TX, Gerald and wife Betty of Sand Springs, OK, Lawrence of Bison, OK and one sister, Linda and husband Larry Hodgeso f Midland, TX and nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Waukomis Fire Department and Our Daily Bread. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.ladusauevans.com.
