A gathering for family and friends to remember Sophia Mae Farmer will be Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, 11:00 AM at Central Christian Church with Rev. John McLemore and Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Cremation is under the direction of The Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date in Bayfield, CO.
Sophia was born Aug. 10, 1947 in Durango, CO the daughter of Merl and Janice Ewing James and died February 7, 2013. She graduated from Bayfield High School in 1965 and then attended Colorado State University. She was united in marriage to Harold Farmer July 7, 1980 in Gainesville, TX and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was employed by Wyoming Machinery Company in Casper, WY. She moved to Enid in 1980 and was employed by The Enid Senior Care Center and was later employed by Atlas Pipeline. She was a member of Central Christian Church and past president of the Women’s Fellowship Guild. Sophia was past president of The Desk and Derricik Club and past president of the IAAP in 1987.She was an avid OSU Football and Oklahoma Thunder Fan and enjoyed attending many rodeos.
Survivors include her mother Janice James and one brother, Keith James and Sue McConaughey of Casper, WY, numerous cousin, and dear friends, Judy Holden and Dee Snyder. She was preceded in death by her father.
