Funeral services for Marvin C Ehlers, 90, of Stillwater and formerly of Lahoma will be Thursday, April 11, 2013, 2:00 PM at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Frank Kinast Jr. officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Lahoma, OK. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Thursday until service time.
Marvin was born March 9, 1923 in Lahoma, OK the son of George and Minnie Nehring Ehlers and passed away April 6, 2013 in Stillwater Oklahoma. He was confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma where he attended school. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. Marvin served in the Solomon and Okinawa Islands as part of the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was united in marriage to Ramona C Pirkl March 25, 1951 in Lahoma, OK at Zion Lutheran Church. He and his father were employed as carpenters and later in life he became a dry wall finisher. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Stillwater. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona, nieces, Denie and Steve Niehus of Garber, Cheri and David Bonnett of Hunter, Kim and Shawn Salmon of Tuttle, nephews, Kim and Pam Ehlers of Stillwater, Kevin and Vicki Ehlers of Stillwater, a brother- in-law and sister-in-law Harold and Goldie Pirkl of Garber and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leonard.
