Ethmer Pearl “Sue” Ehlers 82, of Stillwater, OK, died Monday, October 3, 2011 in Tulsa. Graveside
service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery of Enid. Rev. Kenneth Wade will be officiating.
Sue was born November 13, 1928 in Marshall, OK, the daughter of Andrew and Dorothy (Meisner) Steinert. Sue attended Garber High School and graduated in the class of 1946.
She married Leonard Carl “Tex” Ehlers on December 23, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid. They lived in Stillwater all their married life. Sue worked as a bookkeeper for Murphy’s Hardware from 1949 until her retirement in 1989. After Sue’s retirement she loved to travel, quilt, garden and play cards. Sue spent many enjoyable outings to attend her grandson’s baseball games. Sue enjoyed sharing time with her friends at the Stillwater Senior Citizen Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Orville “Pete” Steinert and sister-in-law Jauanita.
Survivors, Kim Ehlers and his wife Pam, Kevin Ehlers and his wife Vicki all of Stillwater, Grandchildren; Cody Ehlers and his wife Josie of Tampa, FL, and Chase Ehlers of Stillwater, OK.
Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Stillwater with Laduasu-Evans Funeral Home serving as Custodian of the fund.
