Bill Edwards was born December 29, 1927, in Marshall, OK to Joe and Cora (Siegle) Edwards. Bill died at the age of 84 on Thursday July 5 at the Baptist Integris Burn Center due to injuries from an accident.
Bill attended school in Marshall and graduated from Douglas High School.
Bill married Marjorie Hileman June 27, 1948 in Van Buren Arkansas.
In Bill’s early career he worked for the railroad and operated a dozer. His true profession was farming and ranching. He served on the Douglas Co-op board of directors for 9 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Covington where he served as deacon, elder, and chairman of the board. He served as president of the Covington-Douglas PTA. Those who knew him will miss his sense of humor. He had a talent for making people smile.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie of the home; two daughters, Janet Lohmeyer and husband Jay of Enid, Carol Peach and husband John of Hennessey; five grandchildren, Jeremie Lee and wife Hope of Bartlesville, Gina Esau and husband Jason of Piedmont, Derek Peach and wife Rhonda of Hennessey, Ryan Lohmeyer of Oklahoma City, and Calla Cowan and husband Scott of Guthrie; and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica and Noah Lee, Mallory, Aubrey and Whitney Esau, and Kaleb and Kenna Peach.; sister Betty Clark of Ft. Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers, and his granddaughter, Stephanie Lee.
Funeral Service will be at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in Enid at 10 am, Monday July 9th. The service will be officiated by Reverends Connie Schlarb, Don Johnson, and Mickey Moery. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid.
