William Kyle Edson was born to William Mark Edson and Kathryn Anne Edson on April, 10 1986 in Enid, Ok and died as a result of a car accident in Woodstock, Ga.on Feb 11, 2012.
Will attended Hayes Elementary school in Enid until his family moved to Waukomis, OK in 1994. Will graduated from Waukomis High School in 2004. After attending Oklahoma State University, Will joined the United States Marines Corp. in June of 2005. After Boot Camp in San Diego, CA. Will received orders to report to the MCBH in Kaneohe, HI as a Island Warrior, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine. As team leader, CPL Edson served his first tour of duty in Barwana, Iraq in the Mobile Platoon. During CPL Edson's second deployment to Northern Karmah, Iraq, he was embedded with the Iraqi Police Department. In August of 2008, CPL Edson was awarded the Navy and Marine Corp. Achievement Medal for "Superior Performance".
After an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corp in 2009, Will received training at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York where he refined his amazing cooking and baking talents.
Since 2010, Will has been a chef at his brother-in-laws pizzeria in Woodstock, Georgia, a chef at the Timber Lodge Restaurant in Kingfisher, OK and a sous chef at the Brady Tavern in Tulsa, OK. Will enjoyed training as a Tri-Athlete and had competed in multiple races.
Will is survived by his parents, Mark and Kathy Edson; his sisters, Stephanie Foster, Karlee Pool, and Kory Edson; his grandmothers, Dorothy Voss, and Donna Edson; his brothers-in law, Anthony Foster and Doug Pool, his nieces, Kylynn, Kezzy, and Lizzy; his nephews, Kit, Isaac, Knox, and Gabriel. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and Marine brothers. He is preceded in death by grandfathers Verne Lundberg and Bill Edson, grandmother, Zona Jean Downs, and Aunt Barbara Lundberg.
