A Celebration of Life service for Russell S. “Skipper” Eby age 52 of Garber will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the United Methodist Church of Garber with Rev. Don Tolland officiating. Burial will be in the Garber Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Skipper was born August 21, 1961 in Norman to Cecil “Dusty” Eby and Hila Gene Bouher and passed away April 30, 2014. He grew up in Enid where he attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1980. At the age of 15 Skipper traveled with the Continental Singers as a Light Technician. They traveled around Europe and then traveled across the United States with the finale was in Los Angeles. Skipper married Bernette Ward on May 15, 1982 in Enid. They lived in Breckinridge for 15 years. He was a truck driver traveling across the country. In 2005, they moved to Enid where they owned and operated Satellite MD until taking medical retirement in 2011. They moved to Garber where he was in the construction business. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garber.
Survivors include his wife Bernette of Garber, three daughters Jacqueline Eby of Norman, Christine Pidcock and husband Timothy of Enid, Samantha Eby of Enid, granddaughter Katrina Koch, mother Hidy Eby of Garber, brothers Bo Eby of Nashville, TN, Dusty Rex Eby of Norman and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to OMRF-Heart Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
