Funeral Service for Dwight Lewis Jeter, age 99, of Enid, will be 10:00 am Monday, September 16, 2024 at Ladusau Evans Funeral Home, Enid OK, with Chaplain Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Enid Cemetery with the United States Army Honor Guard providing full military honors. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.Dwight was born January 30, 1925, in Mountain Crest, Arkansas to John and Callie (King) Jeter, and passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Baptist Village in Enid.Dwight was drafted into the Army right after graduating high school, and served in World War II and Korea. Dwight lived in Ponca City for many years and retired from Conoco-Phillips in 1982. Following retirement, he moved to Garber, OK, then San Antonio, TX, and has resided the last 7 years in Enid, OK, most recently at Brookdale Senior Living. Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his dog. Even in his last days, he had a good sense of humor, and shared his love of Jesus with others. Preceding him in death are his parents, John, and Callie Jeter; wives, Maude (Pearl) Jeter, and Deanna (Lee) Jeter; brothers, Hugh, Horace, David, and John Clark; sisters, Louise Jeter Walker, and Ernestine Doan. He is survived by a step son Barry Lee, step daughter Becky Schilling; nieces, Jeanne Wildrix, Joanne Seidl, Kathy Pearson, Mary Jantz, Betty Jernigan, and six nephews. Memorial donations may be made in Dwight’s name to Enid First Assembly of God Church, or Evangel Assembly of God Church, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.Condolences may be made, and memories shared online at www.ladusauevans.com.
