Funeral services for Mary E. Durheim, 82, of Enid, will be Sat. Sept. 22, 2012, 1:30 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastors Scott Whittenburg and Kenneth Wade officiating. Interment will follow in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home..
Mary was born Feb. 7, 1930 in Covington, OK, the daughter of John and Pauline Wells Staerkel. Mary passed away Sept. 18, 2012. She was a graduate of Covington High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Louis H. Durheim July 19, 1946 in Covington, OK and he preceded her in death June 14, 2010. She and her husband owned and operated Durheim Appliance until their retirement. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir. She was an accomplished vocalist and sang for many events. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Walta and her husband Frank of Hennessey, a son, Cecil Durheim and his wife Terri of Enid, five grandchildren Rachel, Michael, Ann, Zachary and Hayden, three great-grandchildren and a brother, Aaron Staerkel of Enid, OK. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Orrel Staerkel.
