Funeral services for Lola E Dittmeyer, age 90, will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Community Bible Church of Lahoma, OK with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. A private burial will be in the Ames Cemetery north of Ames, OK. Arrangements under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Lola was born April 9, 1923 in the Little Robe Township of Dewey County, Oklahoma. Lola was the fifth child of Jesse and Annie (Farnsworth) Warren. She passed away, February 5, 2014 in Enid, OK. She graduated from Ames High in 1941. Lola married Harold D Dittmeyer at her parent’s home near Ringwood, OK on February 22, 1942. They lived in Meno and Wichita before moving to Ames in 1953. Lola had been active in the Good Cheer Home Demonstration Club, the Turkey Growers Association and the Major County Farm Bureau. Lola spent several years creating a variety of crafts and selling them at craft shows. After Harold’s retirement, they enjoyed traveling, attending Blue Grass Festivals and researching their family history. She was later married to Verlan Brummitt. She returned to the Ames and Enid area in 2004.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Elvin, Willis, Wilbur and Lewis Warren; her husband, Harold in 1995 and their son, Harold Jr in 2002.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanette and Joe Yokley of Grove and Mary Beth and Clay Buford of Ames; two sisters, Clara Marie Veatch of Rose Hill, KS and Zoe Anna Hand of Ringwood, OK; six grandchildren: Beverly Hawkins, Travis Buford, Patrick Yokley, Sarah Owen, Rebecca Pierson and Jessica West; ten great grandchildren: Caden, Sam, Riley, Peyton, Rachel, Logan, Megan, Cache, Colt and Rory; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Ames Fire Department or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation - Arthritis Division, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the fund. Condolences may be made online at www.ladusauevans.com
