A Memorial Service for Jimmie Lynn Dickson, age 83, of Ringwood, is 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at New Beginnings Wesleyan Church, Ringwood, Ok, with Pastor James Wall and Pastor Kelly Cronkhite to officiate. The United States Air Force will provide military honors. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jim was born July 8, 1936 in Carrolton, Missouri to Hugh and Virginia (Thoeni) Dickson and passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2020 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Jim spent four years serving his country in the United States Air Force. Following his service in the military, he had several occupations; he served as Chief of Police for Cleo Springs and also studied and received his license as a Chiropractor from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. He had many other jobs following his retirement, his last being a delivery driver for Wheatheart Nurtition. He married Alice Prochaska on April 29, 1983 in Raton, New Mexico. Jim was a people person; he never met a stranger and was known as the “Candy Man” at the bank and church because he often handed out candy. Jim loved riding his motorcycle and rode with the Christian Motorcycle Association and Riding for Jesus. He also loved fishing, playing his guitar and singing. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; a son and one brother. He is survived by his wife Alice, of the home in Ringwood; daughter, Cathy Dickson, of Independence, MO; son James Henderson, of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Larry and Gene Dickson; and a sister, Nancy Rinkenbaugh.

Memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to the New Beginnings Wesleyan Church; Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church; The Commons Alzheimer’s Support Group; or to Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
