Doris Detwiler

Funeral services for Doris E. Detwiler will be Friday, July 13, 2012, 3PM at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Dr. Grayson L. Lucky officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Doris was born June 23, 1933 in Coldwater, KS the daughter of Floyd and Mamie Bliss Brown. She was a graduate of Coldwater High School in 1951 and later attended Pratt Junior College in Pratt, KS. Doris was united in marriage to Wendell Detwiler June 25, 1979 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was employed at D and J Oil Company for 33 years retiring in 2011. Doris attended The First United Methodist Church, a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class , The United Methodist Women and Circle 2. She enjoyed sewing, attending the Gaslight Theater, Enid Symphony and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Wendell, a daughter, Tonya Porter of Lahoma, OK, one son, Randell and JoAnn Porter of Enid, OK, four step-sons, Robert and Carla Detwiler of Enid, OK, Gale and Cathy Taylor of Elk City, OK, Michael and Debbie Detwiler of Iuka, KS, and Lendl Detwiler of Enid, OK, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister, Betty Malone of Wamego, KS, two aunts, Roberta Malone and Marie Lamb of Coldwater, KS. She was preceded in death by parents, a son, Ronald Porter and a brother, Ernest Brown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or The American Cancer Society with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.
