A Celebration of Life service for Robert “Bob” Neil Dennis age 78 of Enid will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Dr. Robert Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
Bob was born June 5, 1938 in Sterling, Colorado to Fred and Agnes Linn Dennis and passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Integris Bass Baptist Hospital.
He married Joy Roy on April 16, 1965 in Hillsdale, OK. Bob lived in Parsons, KS and moved to Enid at a young age where he attended and graduated from Enid High in 1956. Bob attended Northwestern University where he received his Bachelor and Master Degrees. He taught in Kansas for 10 years and moved to Enid in 1970 where he taught at Longfellow Jr. High retiring in 1993 after 23 years.
Bob was a member of Oakwood Christian Church and later Hillsdale Bible Church where he was very active.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Joy, of the home, daughter Lea Ann Van Meter and husband Sean of Enid, son Tim Dennis of Helena, 5 grandchildren; Sarah and Conner Dennis, Chloe, Callie, and Camree Van Meter; 3 brothers Roy and wife Patty Dennis, Don and Cheryl Dennis all of Enid, and Fred Dennis of Denver, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Tom.
Memorials may be made to OMRF- Alzheimer Division or Hillsdale Bible Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
