Janice W. Decker was born on December 12th, 1933 in Carrier, OK to Walter and Estelle Went. Jan passed from this life into the next on Friday, April 12th, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with M.S.
Jan was an amazing woman, full of love. Her strength inspired so many people in so many different ways. Jan was a giving person. She gave of her time, her energy, wisdom, and love to anyone in need.
She found the love of her life and was married July 11th, 1986 to William E. Decker.
Jan enjoyed many things while she was with us. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She loved her gardens, she could never get the “farm girl” out of her. She enjoyed reading and loved to travel. Just a nice long drive would put a smile on her face.
Of all the things Jan loved, her family was her passion. She was so proud of being a mother, a grandma, and a great-grandma (or “G.G.” as we called her). She will always be a part of who we all are. We will all strive to lead the exemplary life she led for the rest of our lives. The world is a far better place because she was in it.
Jan is survived by two daughters, Robyn Congdon of Crescent, OK, and Jana Brandborg of Tulsa, OK.; one son, David Coombs of Georgetown, TX; Two sisters, Virginia King of Yukon, OK and Jarilyn Riley of OKC, OK; two step-sons, Bruce Decker of Bartlesville, OK and Jimmy Decker of Hennessey, OK; two step-daughters, Ronnie Decker of Hennessey, OK and Connie Young of Bowie, MD; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Estelle Went; her husband Bill Decker; her brother Russell Went and one granddaughter.
