A Celebration of Life and interment for Carol G. “Gerry” Daniels, 94, of Enid, will be private. The family will receive friends at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, from 6 to 7PM. Gerry was born August 28, 1922, in Garber, Oklahoma the daughter of John and Claytie Cole Helton.
Gerry was a graduate of the Garber High School in 1940 and then she attended and graduated from The Enid Business School. She was employed by Pillsbury Mills as an accounts payable clerk. Gerry was united in marriage to Ernest Wayne Daniels June 1, 1946, in Enid, who preceded her in death December 10, 2011. Mr. Daniels was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Lawton, Oklahoma; Stuttgart, Germany; and Fort Monroe, Virginia. They retired in Lawton and then returned to Enid in 1987. She was a very active member of the Boulevard Christian Church in Lawton, Oklahoma, and later Central Christian Church in Enid. She enjoyed swimming, taking care of her dogs, and caring for her family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Taylor and her husband Doug of Tulsa; two sons, Mark Daniels and his wife Marion of Norman; and Jim Daniels and his wife Melody of Yukon; five grandchildren: Craig Taylor, Rachel Taron and her husband Stu, David Daniels, Aaron Daniels and Presley Daniels; and a brother, JC Helton of Channelview, Texas, and numerous extended family members including three stepsons and six step grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Gerry was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann, her parents, and two sisters, Sara Ebert and Barbara Bones.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church or OMRF, Alzheimer’s or Diabetes Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, custodian of the funds. Condolences may be left and the services viewed at www.ladusauevans.com.
