Betty Culver

January 15, 1924 — August 16, 2017

A Celebration of Life service for Betty J. Culver age 93 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Friday, August 18, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery in the Mausoleum Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Betty was born January 15, 1924 in Vinton, Iowa to Benjamin H. and Ada B. Goodwin Aten and passed away peacefully on August 16, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital. She graduated from Vinton High School. Betty married James Culver while on leave from the Coast Guard on November 7 1943. Together they shared more than 56 years of marriage. She worked at Goodyear during WW II. Betty raised two sons, where she was very active in all of activities including Cub Scouts and Band. She was part of the PTA and volunteered at the Cherokee Strip Museum. She worked as a meat wrapper for many grocery stores in the Enid area, as a poll worker during elections, and was a faithful member of First Nazarene Church in Enid. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Duane and his wife Charlotte Culver of Enid, daughter-in- law Lyndall Culver of Chelsea, OK, 5 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by husband James, son Marvin, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Betty will be greatly missed by her family.
