Enid resident and Norman native, William Jones (Bill) Cuaderes passed away on July 12 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, OK. Born on May 24, 1966, to Eduardo and Rilla Jones Cuaderes, he grew up in Norman, graduating from Norman High School in 1984. He attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman and Southwestern University in Weatherford, OK, before settling in Enid where he managed a United Food store. He was married 22 years to his wife, Kelly. Together they had two much-loved children, Morgan and Ricky of the home.
Bill was fortunate to have been born the youngest of a large family. He will be greatly missed and continually loved by his wife, children, parents, siblings and their families. He is survived by his wife, Kelly of Enid, OK, his parents, Ed and Rilla Cuaderes of Norman, and his brothers and their spouses, Tony of Ellicott City, MD; Jim and Linda of Dallas, TX; Andrew and Bernice of Rio Rancho, NM; Charles and Glenda of Norman, OK; Chris of Norman, OK; John and Leigh Ann of Alexandria, VA; Jason and Renée of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by his sisters and their spouses, Elena and Brent Holmboe of Oklahoma City, OK; Linda and Kurt Schneider of Broken Arrow, OK; Lucy and Steve Hoelscher of Norman, OK; Victoria and John MacKenzie of Tulsa, OK; Jenny Garrett of Norman, OK. Additionally, Bill leaves 29 nieces and nephews, 1 grand-niece and 1 grand-nephew. He is preceded in death by three siblings, Mark and twins, Charles Edward and Laura.
As an active member of the Enid community, Bill participated in Leadership Greater Enid, coached baseball through Enid Joint Recreation Triad, and supported the Garfield County Junior Livestock Association. His philanthropic activities included the MS Walk, Relay for Life, and the Garfield County Child Advocacy Council. He also served on the board of the YWCA of Enid.
Bill was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Enid. Bill had a deep relationship with and love for the Lord, which impacted his family, friends and co-workers. His charitable heart and acts of generosity have made an everlasting mark on those around him. His memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who love him as he goes to meet our Lord.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the innumerable friends and co-workers who showed their love and support so generously and willingly during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, July 14, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Enid, OK. Rev Keith Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Child Advocacy House of Enid with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
