The funeral service for Lorrel Lee Cray age 85 of Enid will be 10:00 am Saturday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Barrie Henke officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Lorrel was born June 11, 1933 in Enid to Wendell Gene and Marjorie Doremus Cray and passed away January 7, 2019 at the Timbers Skilled Nursing Facility in Edmond. He attended school at Waukomis and Enid High School before joining the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
On August 2, 1954 he married Cleta Ann Hardesty in Enid and they had four children. Lorrel was an automobile mechanic. He worked for Semke Rambler, Chevrolet and Janzen Oldsmobile. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Enid, a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner. He owned and drove a small car during parades with the Shrine Unit. He also drove the Shrine Train, and worked with the stage team at Guthrie. He loved to hunt, as well as create model cars and tractors.
He is survived by his three daughters, Deborah and husband Jim Fletchall of Marlow, Lori Passaro and husband Norman Armentrout of Green Mountain Falls, CO and Teresa and husband Kevin Ewing of Edmond; mother of his children Cleta Erickson, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son Richard Lee Cray.
