Reta Crawford

March 6, 1925 — October 30, 2015

A Celebration of Life Service for Reta Mae Crawford age 90 of Enid will be 1:00 PM Monday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

Reta was born March 6, 1925 in Gould, OK to A.H. and Etta P. Anderson Grant and passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 in St. Mary’s Regional Hospital.

She graduated from Gould High School and moved to California during WW II. She worked in the Goodyear Plant making gas tanks for B-17 Bombers. It was in California that she met Dean Crawford while he was serving in the Navy. They married on June 7, 1946 on the family farm in Gould, OK. Dean and Reta lived in Ames, Enid, Mustang, and Oakwood returning to Enid in 1977. Dean passed away September 5, 2000.

She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Eastern Star, Ladies Music Club, American Legion Auxiliary Ames, OK and the First Baptist Church in Enid. Dean and Reta traveled across the United States and Canada. Reta loved being involved in her grandchildren’s lives. She was also an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan.

Survivors include her daughters; Barbara Hall and husband Chuck of Sperry, OK, Kathy Broomfield of Enid, LuAnn Waller and husband Jon of Enid, Lindy LeGrant and husband Roger of Enid and Debi Crowdis and husband Dennis of Midlothian, TX. Grandchildren; Chuck and Lisa Hall, Ron Hall, Brenda and Rick Clark, Heather and Scott Haffner, Brandi and Jordan Bradford, Sarah and Justin Petty, Clay Waller, Courtney Huston, Callie and Tyler Ledlow, Zac and Alex LeGrant, Colter LeGrant, Lauren Crowdis and Calvin Crowdis, and great grandchildren; Kyle Hall and Alicia Miller, Kaylynn, Keever, Brock, Parker, and Cash Hall, Kyrstyn Hall-Short, Neely and Brendan Short, Gracee Logan, Sage and Kailer Haffner, Jack and Madeleine Bradford, Brayden Stilley and Eli Petty, Greyson and Bryce Huston, Addisyn Ledlow, Mackenzie Mae LeGrant, great-great grandchildren; Jake, Kylie, McKenzie, Kayden and Rayson Hall, and sister, Dortha Lea Rollins and husband Russell, sisters-in-law Connie and Juanita Grant, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Reta found special joy in being a part of the Crawford family; Hazel and Novah, Jimmy and Jody, Billy and Pat, Bob and Louise, Teddy and Karen, Edith Ann and Holly, Twilla and Jim, and Caroleen and Bob.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, grandson Parker Dean LeGrant, five brothers and three sisters.

In the eyes of her children and grandchildren, Reta was the epitome of strength, beauty and love.
