A celebration of life for Joan “Jody” Louise Crawford, 87, of Enid, will be 2:00p.m., Monday, August 5, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev Vernon Lee officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
The Crawford family lost their beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joan “Jody” Louise Crawford, on Monday, July 29, 2019. Joan was born March 26, 1933 at home in Ames, Oklahoma to Clarence and Sylvia Walton. She was raised and educated in Ames.
On February 25, 1950 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Lester “Jim” Crawford Jr. Their love and constant companionship lasted until the moment of his passing for over 66 years. She worked as a salesman with her husband for many years and later worked at Marquis Studio as manager before becoming an owner.
Some of Joan’s favorite pastimes include cooking for all of her family, playing games like cards and Wahoo, fishing, and watching the Dallas Cowboys, OU sports, and Thunder Basketball. She enjoyed sharing recipes with her son, Jerry, daughter, Patricia, and her sister, Jean. During her life she enjoyed watching her three sons, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. Joan loved her two spoiled cats who brought her joy and companionship.
Joan is survived by her son, Jerry Crawford of Enid; her daughter, Patricia Schoenberg of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Karma Stovall and husband John of Enid, Korina Crawford of Enid, Mike Crawford and wife Janell of Enid, and Bruce Schoenberg and wife Siri of Hong Kong; one sister, Jean Cokeley of Enid; three brother-in-laws, Bill, Bob, and Ted; two sister-in-laws, Twila and Caroleen; seven great-grandchildren, Brent Seymour, Jada Stovall, Daniel Schoenberg, Garrett Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Troy Herrera, and Carter Herrera; one great-great grandchild, Lilley Vines.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lester “Jim” Crawford; her two sons, Tom and Pat Crawford; her daughter-in-law, Carrie Crawford; her parents, Clarence and Sylvia Walton; her brother, Jack Walton; her grandson, Chuck Schoenberg.
