Ty Cranford

April 16, 1948 — September 8, 2015

Celebration of Life services for Arley T. (Ty) Cranford age 67 of Enid will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm at West Willow Community Church with Pastor Don Tines and Pastor Ron Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.

Arley Tyrone Cranford (Ty) was born to Arley and Patricia Neely Cranford on April 16, 1948 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in St. Mary’s Hospital.

Ty attended grade school and high school in Ponca City, excelling in football and wrestling. He graduated from Central State with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, later employed as a tax auditor by the State of Oklahoma.

Ty and Linda Lechner Cranford were married in Linda’s country church near Harper, KS on May 16, 1981. Their family grew to include Shane Tyrone, Rachael Nichole, and Nathan Alan Cranford.

As a computer buff, Ty was a meticulous auditor. He maintained the confidential nature of his job to the extent that Linda accused him of working for the CIA!

The Cranford family was a true “house divided;” Rachael graduating from OSU and Nathan from OU. Ty cheered for both football teams, although his preference was given to OU during bedlam.

In his later years, Ty was affectionately referred to as Pops/Padre by his children. He was blessed to see his first grandchild, Adelyn Grace, this past year. Addie inherited her grandpa’s chin!

Pops was diagnosed with CLL in 2001; he remained in remission for 11 years. When his cancer returned, Ty fought like a trooper for over two years. Though not wanting to leave his family, Ty was at peace during his last week of life. Having professed faith in Christ, he looked forward to one day being reunited with his family.

In addition to his grandparents and mother, Ty was predeceased by his “little man” Shane.

Remaining to celebrate his life is wife Linda, daughter and son-in-law Rachael and Cody Porter, son Nathan, granddaughter Adelyn Porter, his father Arley Cranford, a brother Michael Cranford and several other family members.

The family expresses their sincere thanks to Dr Dexeus and “the girls”, Dr P Vijay and Dr Snyder for their superior care and support of Ty; to all the nurses caring for him during his hospital visits; to Tori and Sarah from the transition units; and for the love, support and prayers of friends during this journey.

Memorials may be made to the Adelyn Porter Education Fund.
