The funeral service for Don J Cox, age 75 will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Jim Edmison will officiate. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family at the funeral home Wednesday, from 7-9 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Don was born June 5, 1934 in Enid, OK to Ralph C and Flossie (Schram) Cox and died February 21, 2010 in St Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Enid High School in 1952.
He married Betty Van Hauen on November 14, 1958 at the Davis Park Christian Church, Enid, OK.
He was head cook for Enid Senior Care for six years and before that he worked at the Enid Bus Station for 30 years. He also worked at Bond Bakery and Guys Potato Chips. He loved OU football, NASCAR and cooking. He resided at Kenwood Manor for the last eight months.
Surviving are his wife, Betty of the home, and sons: Steven Cox of Enid and Randy Cox and wife Melissa of Fort Worth, TX; two grandchildren: Brennan Cox of Keller, TX and Karli Cox of Fort Worth, TX; special niece, Jaclyn Van Hauen of Keller, TX and sister, Shirley Clack of Auberry, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lawrence (Larry), and father and mother-in-law, Stephen and Dorothy Van Hauen.
